Payroll Architecture and Reporting Specialist
This fixed term full-time position (2 years) with a 9 day fortnight focuses on enhancing payroll system architecture and reporting capabilities across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders experience a reliable, user-friendly system with insightful and accessible reporting.
Position purpose
The purpose of this role is to enhance payroll system architecture and reporting capabilities across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders experience a reliable, user-friendly system with insightful and accessible reporting.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain payroll system architecture to support operational efficiency and compliance.
Develop and optimise reporting frameworks to meet the needs of managers and decision makers.
Collaborate with other teams within Synod Services to ensure system integration, data accuracy and alignment with organisational goals.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within payroll operations.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, reporting templates, and workflows.
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all payroll-related reporting and system activities.
Design, create and implement enhancements to the rostering and payroll systems, in consultation with the Payroll Manager and Payroll Systems Administrator.
Provide payroll best practice support and troubleshooting for payroll processes across the systems utilised for the payroll function (UKG Ready, Payroll Metrics, and integrated work in a 365 environment).
Mentor and support payroll team members in understanding system enhancements and reporting tools.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability uplift across the payroll function.
Assist with payroll processing during periods of staff absence to ensure continuity of service.

Experience and Skills
Demonstrated experience with payroll and rostering systems.
Experience with Kronos highly regarded.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.
