We are an Australian-owned and nationally operating company, providing end-to-end claims management and residential building repair services to the Insurance Industry. We are seeking a full-time, permanent IT Helpdesk Assistant to provide technical support and assistance to internal users across the organisation, ensuring a smooth operation of IT systems, applications and infrastructure.
The role will be based at our Sydney Head Office and supports both on-site and remote environments across the wider business, contributing to IT projects, security and asset management.
Your New Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Assistant/Helpdesk will provide comprehensive helpdesk support both on-site and remotely, addressing user issues through phone, email, and ticketing systems. Other duties and responsibilities that the successful candidate will undertake include, however not limited to:
* Monitor and maintain IT systems and applications, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
* Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and general network access problems.
* Execute complete employee onboarding processes including account creation, software access provisioning, and hardware setup.
* Manage offboarding procedures ensuring proper account deactivation and hardware recovery.
* Configure and maintain user workstations according to company standards and security policies.
* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-function printers including driver updates and network connectivity.
* Deploy software packages and updates across the business environment using appropriate deployment tools.
* Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and manage hardware lifecycle from procurement to disposal.
* Perform regular system maintenance including updates, patches, and security compliance checks.
* Support the implementation and execution of IT projects as directed by the IT Manager.
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies, reporting any incidents or hazards promptly.
* Maintain detailed documentation of technical procedures, solutions, and configurations.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and liaise with external vendors when required.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
* Minimum 2 years of work experience.
* Understanding of networking concepts, and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of networking issues.
* Knowledge of ISO27001 standards.
* Interest in data protection and cyber security.
* Experience with printer and multifunction device configuration and maintenance.
* Familiarity with software deployment tools and remote support platforms.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Experience liaising with senior management and external partners.
* Proven ability to follow direction and process.
* Excellent stakeholder, customer service and problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
