Environmental Undergraduate Role
We are seeking a motivated and driven environmental student to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of an iconic project.
About the Project:
The Lake Macdonald Dam is part of the South East Queensland drinking water supply operated by Seqwater. The project involves upgrading the dam, which will include pre-construction approvals, procurement, site establishment, lake lowering, aquatic salvage, installation of an upstream coffer dam, cofferdam demolition, spillway removal, and dam construction.
About the Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate to gain hands-on experience working on a transformative project in the Noosa hinterland. As a member of our team, you will provide environmental compliance support, contribute to environmental monitoring and reporting, participate in site inspections and audits, and collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to address environmental concerns and provide advice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Environmental Compliance Support to the team
* Contribute to Environmental Monitoring and Reporting on the project
* Participate in Site Inspections and Audits
* Support Sustainability Initiatives including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation
* Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to address environmental concerns and provide advice
* Assist in responding to and investigating environmental incidents and near misses
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental Documentation and Record-Keeping
Requirements:
* A 3rd or 4th year student (Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines)
* Available to work at least 2 days a week for the next six months minimum
