* Devise and implement planned programmes of activities in line with the Early Years Curriculums to ensure each child can develop to their full potential within a day-care environment. Collaborate with parents, carers, staff, team members, and liaise with other agencies as required.
* Take responsibility for a group of children.
* Prepare and present accurate written records for assessment reviews and case conferences as required.
* Implement health and safety and hygiene regulations.
* Plan and provide a range of educational and developmental opportunities for children aged 0 to 5 years, ensuring individual needs are met.
* Work with the nursery's Special Educational Needs Coordinator to ensure children with special educational needs are fully included in all aspects of the curriculum.
* Take Key-Worker responsibility for a group of children, including planning, assessment, and record keeping. Write children's reviews and ensure they are completed within the required timescales.
* Foster and develop good relationships with parents and carers, ensuring planning for their children is in partnership with them.
* Promote and maintain a culturally sensitive environment, reflecting children's racial and cultural backgrounds in educational and developmental opportunities.
* Participate actively in organizing and implementing a planned programme of activities aligned with current legislation (DFES Foundation Stage for Learning and Birth to Three).
* Help promote understanding of the centre's aims among children, families, and the wider community. Support the development of the centre as a community resource.
* Assist in Early Years Child Protection Procedures by identifying and monitoring children in need of protection and preparing observational reports for case conferences.
* Maintain high professional standards of hygiene and adhere to health and safety requirements related to Full Day Care and the National Standards.
* Participate in staff meetings, supervision, training, development days, and external training as appropriate.
* Contribute to the development of the parents' committee.
* Responsible, as directed, for student training, supervision, and development.
* Perform all responsibilities respecting our Equality Statement.
* Work outside normal hours as required, including accompanying children to a place of safety.
* Ensure all services are provided in accordance with The Learning Trust's policies and quality commitments.
* Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Chief Executive or relevant line manager, consistent with the post's function and grade.
* Undertake additional duties as appropriate to achieve the post's objectives, as directed by the Line Manager.
