Whyalla Beef currently has opportunities available forLivestock Team Members and Pen Ridersto join our team at our large commercial feedlot located approximately 25km from Texas in southern Queensland. Following our recent expansion, the site now has a capacity of 75,000 head, making it one of Australia's largest commercial feedlots.
This is a practical outdoor role suited to people who enjoy working with cattle and being part of a hardworking supportive team. Positions may involve pen riding and/or livestock duties, depending on experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pen riding and daily monitoring of cattle health and welfare (rider roles)
* Assisting with inducting, drafting, moving and dispatching cattle
* Supporting the daily care and management of livestock
* Handling cattle using low-stress livestock handling principles
* Administering treatments and reporting animal health concerns
What skill are we looking for?
* Strong work ethic with good communication skills
* Reliable and able to work as part of a team
* Experience riding horses essential for Pen Rider positions
* Work a 10 days on / 4 days off roster
* Willingness to learn and work in a practical outdoor environment
* Previous cattle or livestock experience advantageous
