With workshops in High Wycombe and Malaga, we specialise in hydraulic cylinder repair for Mining, Civil, Earthmoving, Construction and Oil & Gas customers.
The Role
We're recruiting a Chrome Shop Supervisor to lead our Malaga hard chrome plating and grinding facility.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will supervise a team of ~10 (electroplaters, cylindrical-grinder operators and trade assistants), schedule work, maintain quality and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and assign daily work tasks and monitor productivity.
Supervise and coach shop staff; conduct toolbox talks, training and performance reviews.
Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Liaise with internal teams and external customers to schedule jobs and resolve issues.
Maintain workshop safety and regulatory compliance.
Drive continuous improvement and best-practice procedures in plating and grinding operations.
Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a workshop supervisor, leading hand or similar in machining/mechanical/plating environment.
Strong people-management and communication skills.
Ability to work unsupervised, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of machining tolerances, inspection practices and workshop scheduling.
Commitment to safety and quality systems.
Direct experience in hard chrome plating, hydraulic cylinder repair or cylindrical grinding.
Planning/scheduling experience and familiarity with job-management systems.
