Western Local Land Services (LLS) is looking for qualified veterinarians ready to make a real impact in regional animal health and biosecurity.
As a District Veterinarian, you will conduct field‐based disease investigations and collaborate with landholders and industry to strengthen prevention, preparedness, detection and response to animal disease and welfare issues, working in a mix of office‐based and hands‐on field settings.

* Salary up to $145,443.00 per annum + super (dependent on experience)

What you'll do
* Conduct field‐based disease investigations and collaborate with landholders and industry to strengthen prevention, preparedness, detection and response to animal disease and welfare issues.
* Lead and support the management, control and eradication of notifiable and emergency animal disease incidents, including safe stock movement and contribution to state and national response programs.
* Maintain accurate disease information systems and documentation to support traceability, government certification, assurance programmes and disease‐free status for producers and the district.
* Educate and engage livestock owners, industry stakeholders and private veterinarians to prevent, identify and report notifiable diseases while supporting compliance and improved on‐farm practices.
Qualifications
* A degree in Veterinary Science registrable in NSW and registration with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board.
* A current NSW Driver Licence with willingness and capacity to travel throughout the region.
* Experience in large animal medicine and welfare with the capability to rapidly detect and diagnose notifiable herd and flock diseases using epidemiological principles.
* Expertise to educate and engage livestock owners, industry stakeholders and private veterinarians to prevent, identify and report notifiable diseases while supporting compliance and improved on‐farm practices.
* Knowledge of biosecurity and animal welfare risks and field service delivery.
