The Aboriginal Medical Service Cooperative Limited (AMS Redfern) was established in 1971 and was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) in Australia. We are a multi-disciplinary health care facility with Medical, Chronic Care, Drug & Alcohol, Mental Health, Dental and Public Health units. We work together to provide a high level of patient care whilst servicing our local community needs.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an engaged and customer focused Administration Officer to join our team at the AMS Redfern.
As an Administration Officer you will be responsible for:
* Delivering administration support within a team-based model working across all areas of the AMS Redfern.
* Greeting and providing assistance to patients, visitors and staff.
* Responding to incoming phone calls, answering queries and transferring calls.
* Providing assistance and advice to new patients and reactivating patients and completing the patient registration administration process including reviewing forms, documentation, receiving medical records, and updating the patient information system.
* Completing other general administration/office duties to support the operations, organising meetings, drafting agendas and documenting meeting minutes.
What we are looking for
* Demonstrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness and knowledge.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administration role and experience completing a range of administration / office duties.
* Certificate III or Certificate IV in Business Administration or willingness to undertake these studies.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
* Good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise with a broad range of people in a professional manner.
* Good customer service skills and ability to de-escalate challenging interactions.
* Confirmation of Aboriginality, valid Working with Children Check, National Police Check and evidence of health vaccinations.
