About the Role

Opening in 2026, the brand-new Tamworth Mental Health Unit is a purpose-built 37-bed acute inpatient facility servicing the New England North West region. As a Level 1–2 Occupational Therapist, you will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-focused, evidence-based care across adult, high acuity, younger persons, and older persons streams. This role offers the opportunity to shape therapeutic programs in a modern environment, supporting consumers to engage in meaningful activities and build independence during their inpatient stay.

What You'll Be Doing

* Complete functional and occupational assessments
* Deliver individual and group-based interventions
* Facilitate structured therapeutic programs
* Support daily living skill development and recovery goals
* Contribute to collaborative care planning and discharge planning
* Maintain high-quality clinical documentation

About You

* Registered Occupational Therapist (AHPRA)
* Passionate about acute mental health and recovery-oriented care
* Confident in assessment and group facilitation
* Strong communicator with empathy and cultural awareness
* Organised, adaptable, and team-focused
