South West Fire (PWR) is a Collie-based business, manufacturing, and servicing fire appliances for DBCA, DFES, local government, mining and private industry. We are currently looking to employ a suitably qualified Diesel/Heavy Automotive Mechanic to assist with the increase in workload.
As a Diesel/Heavy Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, light heavy vehicles to ensure our clients' fleets perform optimally to ensure minimal downtime.
Your day-to-day tasks can vary and may include:
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults by analysing complex mechanical and electrical problems in heavy vehicles.
* Undertaking routine and preventative maintenance following OEM specifications.
* Ensuring accurate records of repairs, maintenance procedures, and parts inventory to track vehicle history and ensure compliance with regulations.
To be successful in your application you must have:
* Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components of heavy vehicles.
* Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy automotive technician, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
* Possess relevant trade certifications
* Current manual MR Class WA driver's license
* VSB-6 Authorised Modifier for heavy vehicles preferred, not essential
