* Band 6 salary range from $99,920 to $108,913 plus super (subject to experience) and monthly RDO for full time 40 hour weeks.
* Commuter use council vehicle & Registered Practitioner Allowance available for eligible candidates with professional registration.

A bit about the role

Support the delivery of a compliant and efficient building service by ensuring adherence to the Building Act and local regulations, while providing technical guidance to internal stakeholders across the City of Casey.

What you'll deliver

* Ensure compliance with building legislation, codes, and standards under direction.
* Conduct building inspections in response to complaints and departmental requests.
* Issue and follow up on inspection notices and orders.
* Provide on-site advice and direction to builders, subcontractors, and property owners.
* Assist in assessing various permit applications (e.g. Building, Hoarding, POPE).
* Participate in after-hours callouts on a rostered basis.
* Monitor project performance, manage risks, and resolve issues.
* Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required standards.

What you'll bring

* Demonstrated knowledge of the legislation relevant to the building industry.
* Ability to interpret legislation, policies and apply precedents.
* Building Inspector/Surveyor qualification including Registration as a Building Practitioner with the Building & Plumbing Commission, in the category of Building Inspector Unlimited, is desirable.
* Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check & Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
* A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
