Parks Technician - Temporary up to 12 months – Narellan, New South Wales
Camden Council has an exciting temporary opportunity to join our Parks team as Parks Technician. This position has become available due to a development prospect within Council due to the unprecedented growth that Camden Council is experiencing. If you are a motivated team player who has experience in parks and gardens maintenance including experience in the use of horticultural plant and equipment, this may well be the ideal position for you.
SALARY: $59,187 -$76,317 pa + Super
Location: Parks Depot - 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan 2567
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 12 months
Hours: 38-hour working week

Responsibilities
- Experience in undertaking parks and gardens maintenance activities.
- Experience in operating a variety of horticultural tools & equipment; mowers, brushcutters, pole saws, hedge trimmer, chainsaws, blowers and other hand powered tools used in turf and garden maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.
- Ability and willingness to gain NSW General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake training to gain necessary qualifications to undertake work required.
Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in undertaking parks and gardens maintenance activities.
- Experience in operating a variety of horticultural tools & equipment; mowers, brushcutters, pole saws, hedge trimmer, chainsaws, blowers and other hand powered tools used in turf and garden maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.
- Ability and willingness to gain NSW General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake training to gain necessary qualifications to undertake work required.
Desirable
- Ability and willingness to gain further qualifications including AQF3 Working with Chemicals, RTA traffic controller certificate (Blue and Yellow or equivalent), First Aid, chainsaw operations (Trim and Cross Cut), Pole saw, Cert III Horticulture, manual handling.
- Previous experience in driving light truck/ute and trailer combinations.
- Experience in small plant (machinery) maintenance.
- Experience and/or training with Manual Handling training.
- Experience with irrigation systems, playground Maintenance, waterplay park and parks infrastructure maintenance.
