Aboriginal Health Specialist Role
This role entails providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of clients' healthcare needs
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
* Conducting health checks, screenings, and immunizations
* Delivering health education and promotion programs to the community
* Maintaining accurate and confidential client records
* Advocating for the healthcare needs of the Indigenous community
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Formal qualification as an Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards it
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the healthcare or community services sector
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs, and practices
* Commitment to providing high-quality, culturally safe, and client-centered healthcare
