MLHD is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Clinician who is ready for a new adventure. Through this role you will be able to provide, plan and deliver comprehensive, high quality patient care to the regional Wagga Wagga community.
About the role : This clinical position involves the provision of intake, assessment, evidence-based interventions and case management services to individuals presenting with issues related to opioid substance use in accordance with NSW Health guidelines. Interventions include initiating and managing planned treatment options, psychosocial interventions, case management, crisis management, withdrawal management, consultation and referral to other agencies, advocacy for the client group and assistance with opioid replacement administration (where appropriate). You will also be involved in the facilitation and coordination of public prescriber clinics. You will provide professional advice to, and liaise with, other health, community and welfare professionals. The position provides age-appropriate services to individuals of all ages (children, adolescents, adults and the elderly). The role may assist with D&A; clinican leave coverage and works as part of the MHDA team. See the position description for full requirements.
About Wagga Wagga Community Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol (CMHDA) : The Wagga Wagga CMHDA team is the largest of six CMHDA teams across MLHD, with around 18 multidisciplinary clinicians in CMHDA and 7 in the drug and alcohol team. The team includes Aboriginal Mental Health Trainees, Peer Workers, Support Workers and a Family and Carer Support Worker. The drug and alcohol team works with Addiction Medicine Specialists and public prescribers who see consumers across clinics weekly. Services cover the lifespan from the Health Services Hub at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. We work with community organisations to ensure people receive appropriate care and have access to clinical leadership for D&A; and MH at district level, plus specialty services like SUPPS.
