**About the Role**:
General Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and document all maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and valves.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to perform complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
- Utilize technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, work performed, and time spent.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations for optimizing machinery performance.
- Under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader or production team leaders, perform all electrical and mechanical maintenance responsibilities within the scope and abilities of this role.
- Capable of working with little supervision and supervising lower-level personnel and apprentices.
- Maintain, build, modify, or test advanced trade skills in any department.
- When necessary, assist with all production and organisational maintenance needs.
- Train lower-level workers and assist non-trades workers with minor modifications or maintenance as needed.
- All safety equipment must be maintained, operated, and tested. It is important to keep accurate records.
- Take training to be able to fulfil the duties assigned to this level.
- Must be available for call outs and overtime as needed by the position. During shutdown periods, no leave will be granted, and weekend work will be needed.

General Competencies:
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults.
- Installing cable / wiring support and protection equipment (trunking, cable trays, )
- Installing and terminating wiring systems.
- Installing electrical apparatus (switchboards, motors, protection devices, control devices etc).
- Maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical apparatus (motors, generators, lighting, etc)
- Commissioning of electrical and mechanical apparatus and associated circuits
- Testing electrical apparatus and circuits
**Working hours**
- Nominal mínimal ordinary 38 hours.
- Rotational shift work may be required. May be required to work at other locations.
- Additional hours as required by the position, including weekends and call outs.
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical "A" Class) or similar.
- Completed modules in PLC Programming.
- With practical experience with Omron and Siemens PLCs.
- FMCG (manufacturing) experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge in HACCP and ISO9001:2000 is a plus.
