This is a great next step for an experienced AML analyst who's ready to deepen their impact and take on more complex investigations. In the Max term role, as a Senior Analyst in our AML Investigations team, you'll play a key role in helping protect the BOQ Group by reviewing and investigating transaction monitoring and screening alerts, identifying unusual activity and emerging patterns, and supporting high‐quality, timely reporting to AUSTRAC.
You'll be trusted to apply strong judgement and technical expertise as you assess cases, clearly document investigation outcomes, and make well‐reasoned recommendations. A core part of the role is completing four‐eye quality checks across investigations, including customer off‐boarding decisions, ensuring outcomes are consistent, defensible and aligned to BOQ Group policies and risk appetite.
You'll work closely with leaders and stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Compliance and Data & Analytics, sharing insights from investigations and contributing to a collaborative and supportive financial crime environment. There's also real scope to get involved beyond day‐to‐day casework, whether that's supporting capability uplift across the team, contributing to training, or being part of initiatives that continuously improve how we detect and respond to financial crime risks.
About you
You – our preferred candidate, you are capable AML or Financial Crime Analyst with solid experience in investigations, transaction monitoring, sanctions or screening, and you're ready to step into a more senior role. You understand AML/CTF obligations, typologies and red flags, and you're confident making risk‐based decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
You're curious by nature, confident in your judgement, and you care about doing things properly — not just ticking the box. You communicate clearly, enjoy collaborating with others, and can explain complex issues in a way that makes sense to a broad range of stakeholders. You take pride in producing quality work and you're happy to lean in, share your knowledge and help lift the capability of the team around you.
You bring experience in financial services and a genuine interest in financial crime, with professional qualifications such as ACAMS or ICA well regarded. Most importantly, you're someone who wants to keep learning, keep growing and make a real contribution If you're ready to step up, lean in and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
