About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader to support our College-wide student wellbeing program. This role is focused on designing and embedding a Biblically-shaped wellbeing program for the classroom.

The successful candidate will have a particular focus on boosting the capacity and capability of teachers' mental health literacy, supporting them to know when and how to refer students internally within the College and driving new mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the school.

This exciting opportunity involves using your knowledge of teaching and the student experience to inform and influence the work of others involved in the engagement, mental health, wellbeing or learning of children and young people.


Key Responsibilities

* To develop and maintain connection with external services to support students' mental health, wellbeing or learning.
* To boost the capacity and capability of teachers' mental health literacy and support them to know when and how to refer students internally within the College.
* To drive new mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the school.
* To use your knowledge of teaching and the student experience to inform and influence the work of others involved in the engagement, mental health, wellbeing or learning of children and young people.


Requirements

* A qualified teacher and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
* Demonstrated ability to inform and influence the work of others involved in the engagement, mental health, wellbeing or learning of children and young people.
* Demonstrated experience supporting a student's mental health, wellbeing or learning by developing and maintaining connection with external services.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills.
* Current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
* Commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
