We have a full-time position available for an experienced Aquatics Trainer – Program & Teacher Development to join our Aquatics team at Sydney Gymnastics & Aquatic Centre (SGAC) on a fixed term basis (13 February 2026 – 12 February 2027).
About the role:
This role plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the swimming & water safety teaching standard at SGAC. You will be responsible for:
* training, observing and developing our aquatic program team
* overseeing program quality and implementing best practices.
* Conducting observations of the team, delivering impactful feedback that identifies skill gaps and unleashing proactive solutions to enhance their understanding and capabilities.
* Empower our learn to swim teachers to perform at their absolute best, all while creating an unforgettable experience for our members.

What do you need to be considered?
* AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
* AUSTSWIM Teacher of Towards Competitive Strokes
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (minimally TAE Desirable
* First Aid Certificate
* CPR Accreditation
* Working with Children Check
* 5+ Years' experience in teaching Swimming & Water Safety
* 5+ Years' Demonstrated Programming, Administration, Training Implementation and delivery
* Broad industry experience
* Demonstrated understanding of the aquatics industry, swimming and child development and technical training requirements from the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO)
* Capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite
* Capacity to effectively use Xplor Recreation Customer Retention Management System (Desirable)
