Overview
Border Express is looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our Queensland and Northern Territory region and shape the next phase of our growth. What you'll do
* Lead and manage all Branch activities across your assigned state, ensuring operational efficiency and strong financial performance
* Drive service excellence, including maintaining and improving DIFOT performance and operational KPIs
* Develop and execute quarterly labour and operating plans aligned to business strategy and budget expectations
* Monitor financial performance daily, analysing cost overruns, margin performance and utilisation metrics, implementing corrective action where required
* Build, coach and develop your senior leadership team to ensure improved capability and succession strength
* Oversee safety compliance, regulatory adherence and disciplined operational governance across all facilities and fleet
* Partner with national sales, customer service and other General Managers to strengthen performance nationally
* Foster a high-accountability culture focused on customer service, safety and continuous improvement
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a General Manager or senior operational leadership role within transport, logistics or a complex operational environment
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing budgets, cost control and margin performance
* Experience leading high-volume operations with fluctuating demand and workforce optimisation requirements
* A confident and visible leader who can build high-performing teams and drive accountability
* Strong stakeholder management capability, including experience working alongside sales and commercial teams
* Deep commitment to safety leadership and regulatory compliance
* A strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into disciplined operational execution
