The Head of Procurement Operations - Site Purchasing is responsible for establishing and leading a centralised Purchasing Centre of Excellence that drives a sustainable 10-15% reduction to the total cost base whilst ensuring governance, compliance, capability development, and execution excellence across all business units. The spend under management is approx. $500m annually.
This role acts as the conduit between Purchasing and the central Procurement team and it's relevant category portfolios – Converting Materials & CAPEX, Commodities, Logistics, Energy and Property & Indirects, translating strategic procurement initiatives into standardised execution frameworks at site level. The Group PMO will also be a key stakeholder needed to support delivery of site purchasing initiatives.
This is a newly established position within a high-performing, close-knit team, supporting our ongoing transformation.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
* Develop, implement, and maintain Group-wide Purchasing Execution policies and standards, including:
* Ensure alignment between Purchasing processes and Group governance frameworks
* Act as the primary Purchasing interface to the Group PMO for governance and transformation initiatives.
* Design and implement a Purchasing Compliance Improvement Programme across all sites.
* Coordinate implementation of multi-site sourcing or compliance initiatives.
* Collaborate with Maintenance and Supply Chain to optimise spare parts working capital.
* Ensure critical parts availability through robust procurement execution standards

Specifically, for this role, we expect you will have;
* Relevant degree – Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce
* 10+ years relevant Procurement/procurement and supply chain experience including 3+ years leading team.
* Demonstrated experience leading procurement governance or COE functions
* Strong SAP purchasing module experience (MM preferred)
* Experience working in a multi-site manufacturing environment
* Proven track record delivering measurable cost savings and compliance improvement
* Commercial acumen with strong financial literacy
