Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Engagement Officer Location: Perth, WA Contract Length: Non- Ongoing, 12 months Salary Range : $91,092 - $102,765 per annum Eligibilit y /Security Requirement: Australian Citizenship About the role As an APS 6 Senior Engagement Officer, you will work within a small team to manage a range of functions which will include stakeholder engagement activities, aged care program assurance and assisting with stewardship of the aged care system within the assigned regions. We are looking for you to have the following: Ability to build, maintain and lead productive working relationships with a range of diverse stakeholders. excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. abilities to confidently provide information and advice using a variety of positive engagement and communication methods. abilities to design and support projects including managing associated risks. the initiative to undertake (and take personal responsibility for) meeting objectives and progressing work even in challenging circumstances. experience managing a team to deliver objectives within a fast-paced environment. leadership skills to support a positive, empowering team culture that encourages continued development, including through periods of change. proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, OneNote, SharePoint, and Outlook. sound understanding of the health and/or aged care system or willingness to quickly gain this understanding with high level guidance. Key Responsibilities: initiating, developing, and completing projects to support local implementation of a range of Commonwealth-funded health and aged care programs and reforms. providing leadership to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (including users of the aged care system). engaging with our stakeholders to better understand their local environments to develop better policies and programs to support their communities, including identifying issues of concern, performing risk assessments and undertaking escalations as required. attending and representing the Department at various meetings and events where you engage with various stakeholders including users of the aged care system, funded providers of aged care (and other health) services, State government and other Commonwealth agencies. preparing and delivering a range of written and verbal communications for dissemination at various stakeholder events including but not limited to information sessions, meetings, and community forums. supporting a team to manage multiple projects, meetings and initiatives with some administrative and HR support as required (including managing performance and identifying opportunities for improvement). Regular visits to residential aged care facilities will be required by the successful applicants. Successful applicants must comply with relevant requirements specific to entrance into residential aged care facilities (including up-to-date influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations and the wearing of required PPE). This position will require frequent travel within the State, including to regional locations outside of capital cities. The successful candidate must be able to travel as required by the role.
