Overview

PLC Perth in Western Australia is one of Australia's leading schools for girls. We are a Uniting Church school catering for approximately 1000 day and boarding students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Our campus is located in the leafy suburb of Peppermint Grove, situated between the ocean and the river.


Position

Head of Finance

Permanent, full-time

The Head of Finance is a senior role responsible for driving the financial strategy, sustainability, and operational excellence of the school. This position requires a dynamic, forward-thinking individual with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, who is confident engaging with Council, Executive Leadership, and staff across the organisation.

This is a unique position, suited to an aspiring Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is looking to broaden their strategic impact while remaining hands-on with the financial and operational details.


Key Responsibilities

* Guide strategic financial decisions and investments.
* Monitor funding and report financial performance.
* Drive innovation and ensure compliance.


Operations & Compliance

* Oversee budgeting, payroll, audits and financial reporting.
* Lead capital planning and system improvements.


Team & Stakeholder Engagement

* Lead the Finance Team and collaborate with School Leaders.
* Support other departments and manage contracts.


Performance & Reporting

* Develop KPIs and dashboards.
* Communicate financial results to key stakeholders including school leaders and Council.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred).
* Professional certification such as CPA, or CA.
* Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
* Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and accounting practices.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
* High ethical standards and attention to detail.
