About the role
Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, the Senior Maintenance Engineer leads a team of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems professionals. This role is responsible for the lifecycle management of electrical and instrumentation assets across the site, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will provide technical leadership, develop engineering standards, and support continuous improvement in asset reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and mentoring a team of electrical and control systems professionals
* Supporting asset lifecycle management and reliability improvement initiatives
* Developing and reviewing engineering standards and maintenance procedures
* Providing safety and technical guidance across electrical systems
* Conducting performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning
* Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, consultants, and regulators
About you
The ideal candidate will hold an Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent), with Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation and registration on the National Engineering Register. You will have experience in technical, engineering, and leadership roles within mining or heavy industry, including asset strategy development and root cause analysis. Strong knowledge of Australian standards, WHS (Mines) regulations, and experience liaising with the Resource Regulator are essential. You will be skilled in data analysis, technical report writing, and risk assessment facilitation, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical tools.
