The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Designer to become part of our growing Technical Team.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with a team of skilled Technical Designers and the Commercial Sales team to design and deliver a diverse range of projects within set timeframes.
Our projects vary in scale and complexity, giving you the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and understanding of manufacturing processes across a wide range of products.
About You
You're a team player with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to design. You can plan, prioritise, and execute tasks independently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and previous experience in the construction or manufacturing industries are essential. SolidWorks proficiency is a must.
Key Responsibilities
•Conceptualise, develop and detail products across a range of industries and project types
•Produce shop drawings and technical documentation, including installation drawings
•Collaborate with team members, management, clients and suppliers
•Deliver projects on time and within budget
•Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders
Skills & Experience
•Minimum 5 years' experience in a design or engineering role (e.g. Industrial Designer, Product Designer/Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Draftsperson)
•Proficiency in SolidWorks for both conceptual and technical documentation (KeyShot, DraftSight and DriveWorks experience highly regarded)
•Proven ability to design for manufacturability and implement best practices
•Excellent project management, time management and organisational abilities
•Strong problem-solving skills with a creative, solutions-focused mindset
•High attention to detail and strong revision control
•Ability to interpret technical, architectural and shop drawings
•Excellent knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication
•Willingness to take a hands-on approach to ensure design functionality
