Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising the performance of fixed plant assets across our port operations.This is a hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about driving plant reliability and safety excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on all fixed plant equipmentDiagnose and repair hydraulic systems and componentsRespond to and resolve mechanical breakdowns efficiently and safelyConduct inspections across online plant areas including conveyors, train unloaders, sample stations, and balance machinesRaise notifications and initiate work requests for identified defectsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability programsQualifications And ExperienceRelevant Mechanical or Engineering Trade QualificationDemonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally within a mining or heavy industrial environmentStrong hydraulics knowledge and troubleshooting abilitySolid understanding of conveyor systems and large-scale bulk material handling equipmentProficient in SAP and Microsoft Project or similar maintenance systemsSkilled in developing risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS, and other safety documentationStrong communication and organisational skills with a keen attention to detailProven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsA proactive approach to safety and a commitment to Fortescue's Zero Harm cultureOur CommitmentFortescue celebrates individual strengths and team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
