Job Opportunity: Lead Mental Health Services Director
SA Health seeks an experienced professional to lead and influence mental health services across the state of South Australia.
The Role:
The Lead Mental Health Services Director is responsible for overseeing the treatment of patients, the use of restrictive practices, and the administration of mental health legislation. This role requires a high-level understanding of contemporary mental health issues and the ability to provide policy advice, issue standards for patient care, and inspect public and private mental health facilities.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
* Provide leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, promoting collaboration and best practices in mental health service delivery.
* Work closely with government agencies, non-government organisations, and clinicians to strengthen services and improve outcomes for consumers.
Requirements:
* A Fellow, or eligible to be a Fellow, of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent).
* Extensive knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and guidelines.
* Proven expertise in policy development, service improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
* Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills, combined with clinical credibility and a collaborative leadership style.
