Responsibilities
As a Customer Field Technician in Cairns, you'll work independently to complete a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies. Your work will include installations, repairs, maintenance, and supporting customers in their homes or businesses. Your day might involve installing copper or fibre cabling, setting up customer equipment, identifying and fixing faults, and ensuring customers feel supported and informed throughout the process.
Working hours are between 7am and 7pm, with flexibility based on business needs.
You'll receive full training, all required tools, and ongoing support so you feel confident and set up for success.
Safety is a fundamental part of this role—whether you're handling equipment, working in customers' premises, or completing technical tasks, you're expected to consistently apply safe work practices and follow nbn's safety procedures.
Qualifications
* No previous telecommunications experience required – we'll teach you everything you need to know.
* Experience in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work, hospitality, or manufacturing is highly valued.
* Enjoys working independently, managing workload, and taking pride in delivering quality work.
* Strong commitment to safety and clear communication skills.
* Current, clean Driver's Licence.
