Based in beautiful Buderim, this three-year role offers the chance to work at the heart of a high-profile project that matters – one that requires not only strong technical skills, but also a genuine ability to build relationships and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.Duties will include :Developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with project milestones and public expectationsLeading community engagement initiatives that inform, consult and collaborate with local residents and key interest groupsCrafting compelling, audience-focused messaging across a range of platforms including media releases, newsletters, digital and social mediaCoordinating with government agencies, contractors and project teams to ensure timely, consistent and accurate information sharingPreparing speeches, briefing notes and presentation materials for senior leaders and stakeholdersMonitoring public sentiment, media coverage and industry trends to inform responsive, data-driven communication strategiesManaging crisis communication and issues management with confidence, discretion and integrityAdvising senior leaders on strategic communication and community engagement mattersMentoring and supporting a team culture that values collaboration, innovation and high performanceAbout youVast experience in communications and community engagement, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or governmentStrong writing, editing and storytelling skills across diverse formats and channelsA proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a talent for navigating complex issuesExcellent project management skills, with the ability to balance competing prioritiesA strong understanding of engagement best practices and stakeholder relationship managementA genuine commitment to building trust and transparency with the communityIAP2 Certificate (or willingness to complete independently)Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, PR, marketing or journalismCurrent driver's licenceFamiliarity with Infrastructure Sustainability frameworks is an advantageThis is more than just a communications role – it’s a chance to be a trusted voice and strategic leader on a project that’s shaping Queensland’s future.
