About the role
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead all purchasing and sourcing activities across Vossloh's Australian business units. You will design and execute multi-year sourcing strategies, develop robust supplier partnerships, deliver measurable cost savings, and ensure quality and continuity of supply for our manufacturing operations.
This is a high-impact leadership role within the Supply Chain team, offering autonomy, visibility and the ability to shape our long-term procurement framework.
What You Will Do
* Develop and deliver a multi-year strategic sourcing plan aligned to business goals.
* Analyse markets, trends, pricing and supplier performance to inform decision-making.
* Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier evaluations and commercial recommendations.
* Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships with clear KPIs and continuous improvement programs.
* Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers to strengthen performance.
* Lead commercial negotiations and contract lifecycle management.
* Develop cost models and total cost of ownership analysis for all key categories.
* Identify, onboard and qualify new suppliers through risk assessments and audits.
* Mitigate supply chain risk through diversification and second-source strategies.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Procurement and Operations to support production, NPI and ERP activities.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is highly desirable.
* Minimum 7 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or category management.
* Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation expertise.
* Experience with technical components, manufacturing or heavy industry (highly regarded).
* Capable of developing and managing supplier KPIs, audits and performance programs.
* Excellent analytical, contract management and stakeholder-influencing skills.
* Resilient, decisive, collaborative and able to manage complex sourcing environments.
