**About the Department for Correctional Services**
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. **Duties**
The Maintenance/Grounds Officer is responsible to the Manager Industries for the security, safety and control of prisoners in his/her care; the assessment, training and advising of prisoners in all aspects of maintenance and beautification service functions at Adelaide Women's Prison, the oversight and direction of a prisoner work group, contractors and other allied services, to ensure that Departmental policies and procedures are complied with and that standards are optimised and maintained.
**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- The appointee will be required to successfully complete a Custodial Officer training course.
- The hours of duty are 38 hours per week over five (5) days although some out of hours work may be required
**Requirements**:
Desirable: Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Qualified or ability to obtain qualification as Certificate 4 Workplace Assessor.
Essential: Trade Qualification in either; Building Industry, Mechanical and Allied Services, Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry & Joinery trades and or Qualification to Certificate 4 or Diploma Level in Horticulture or relevant industry and or relevant industry experience.
**Remuneration**
CO3 ($68,413 - $74,445 pa)
