A unique opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to step into the role of an Associate Nurse Unit Manager and work across a 30-bed Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical and Medical Ward at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a position with both full-time and part-time schedules available.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (Orthopaedic/Neurosurgery), your responsibilities will include:
* Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
* Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
* Providing clinical and operational direction for the unit, ensuring efficient and effective management through coordinating the delivery of evidence-based nursing care;
* Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources;
* Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
* Undertaking direct patient care, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
* Current registration with AHPRA;
* Working with Children Check;
* 3+ years orthopaedic, neurology or surgical experience;
* Must be able to work rotational nights;
* Current or previous ANUM, shift manager or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable);
* Sound clinical knowledge;
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
* Positive role modelling behaviours;
* Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation;
* Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment;
* High degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases.
REMUNERATION
$52.93 to $54.71 per hour.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
