Network Design Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of computer networks. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining these systems to meet the needs of an organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
* Incident response and resolution.
* Standard network change requests implementation.
* Support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects.
* Configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
* Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
* Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching.
Qualifications
* Degree with IAT Level 2 compliance.
* Knowledge of routing fundamentals.
* Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
* Familiarity with CISCO/Juniper RMA processes.
* Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience.
* TCP/IP and OSI model understanding.
* Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, and Brocade OS familiarity.
* Experience with Layer 3 protocols.
* Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence skills.
* Service Now or similar ITSM products working knowledge.
