Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our dispute resolution team. As a senior lawyer, you will play a key role in managing a mixed litigation and advisory practice, including employment law.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Commonwealth employment law and industrial relations law, with experience in areas such as the Public Service Act 1999, Fair Work Act 2009, and Work, Health and Safety Act 2011.
Responsibilities:
* Represent and advise the Commonwealth in employment/industrial relations/work health and safety law matters.
* Advising Commonwealth departments and agencies on employee management and conduct.
* Representing clients in various employment-related matters before courts, tribunals, and the Fair Work Commission.
You will also have the opportunity to support community interests through pro bono work and undertake litigation in other areas of law relevant to the AGS Dispute Resolution practice.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' PQE for Executive Level 1 roles and 7 years' PQE for Executive Level 2 roles.
* Strong experience in Commonwealth employment law and industrial relations law.
* A good understanding of administrative law.
* Demonstrated capacity to meet personal net production and revenue targets.
