Biology Field Technician - Bluff Point
We are seeking a dedicated professional to implement a post-construction mortality monitoring program at an operational wind facility.
* Conduct post-construction mortality monitoring beneath operating wind turbines.
* Identify bird and bat carcasses discovered on-site.
* Accurately collect data on all bird and bat fatalities.
* Execute bias trials, including searcher efficiency and carcass persistence trials.
* Work in varied outdoor conditions, including inclement weather and uneven terrain.
This is a temporary position with opportunities for advancement.
* Bachelor's degree in natural resources, wildlife management, or equivalent required.
* Experience with bats and/or birds is preferred.
* Strong bat and bird identification skills a plus.
* Ability to use various programs to complete tasks, including Excel and ESRI Field Maps.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
* Effective communication with supervisors, project managers, biologists, technicians, and landowners.
A valid driver's license is required.
