About the role
Best Life Individual Support Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Sunshine Coast area. As a casual employee, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support and care to our clients with a disability, empowering them to live their best lives.
What you'll be doing
* Assist clients with daily living activities such as community access and participation, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, promoting their independence and wellbeing
* Collaborate with the broader care team to develop and implement tailored support plans
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures
* Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
* Supporting our clients towards living their best life and achieving their goals
What we're looking for
* Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role
* Minimum 6 months experience in disability support or related community care roles
* A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with mental health challenges
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to meet the unique needs of each client
* A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable registered vehicle
* Valid driver's licence and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for client transport
* NDIS Workers Screening, Working with Children Check
* Current First Aid Certificate and CPR certification (renewed within last 12 months)
* Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks and assist clients with mobility
* Committed to do at least 2 sleepover shifts per week
