About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker/Carer, you will work closely with participants and their families to provide person-centred support tailored to individual NDIS goals and needs.
Responsibilities
* In-home support including meal preparation and domestic assistance
* Assisting participants with community access and social activities
* Transport to medical appointments, shopping, banking, and leisure activities
* Supporting participants with daily living skills and independence
* Group and recreational activities
* Monitoring participant wellbeing, safety, and health
* Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation
* Supporting participants in a respectful and empowering manner
About You
* Have a positive and caring attitude
* Be reliable, trustworthy, and proactive
* Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards people with disabilities
* Have excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
* Be passionate about making a genuine difference in people's lives
* Be able to work independently and as part of a team
* Understand person-centred care and participant choice and control
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* DHS Working with Children Check
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
* Reliable, roadworthy, and comprehensively insured vehicle
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Infection Control Training – COVID-19
Desirable
* Previous experience in disability support or community care
* Mental Health First Aid Certificate
* Availability for weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Employment Details
* Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
* Work Location: In person
