The Role
Lead safe, reliable and high-performance production at our Moranbah chemical manufacturing operations. We're seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to oversee daily plant performance, drive Zero Harm, optimise uptime, and develop a capable and engaged team. Key Responsibilities
* Lead safe and compliant plant operations, demonstrating Zero Harm principles and ensuring adherence to all HSE standards, regulations and company safety systems.
* Manage day-to-day production for the Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate, Water Treatment and Utilities plants to optimise reliability, performance and uptime.
* Coach, mentor and develop Team Leaders and production personnel, building capability and strengthening operational discipline.
* Oversee production planning and scheduling, working with Supply Chain to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets.
* Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes, improvement actions and opportunities to reduce risk.
* Drive continuous improvement in production processes, standards, procedures and plant performance, ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable operations.
What you'll bring
We are wanting to hear from candidates with a proven background in a Production Superintendent or similar role Ideally within a Petrochem or Heavy Industrial Plant.
Other desirable skills and experience Include
* You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture.
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Chemical, Mineral processing, Metallurgy or Mechanical) desirable.
* Experience in petrochemical or heavy industrial plants, including production management, preferably chemical manufacturing.
* Experience in safety management systems.
* Proven expertise in chemical plant operations, especially Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate, and Water Treatment Plant processes.
* Strong knowledge of legislative requirements, environmental management, and risk analysis for safe, compliant plant operation.
* High business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership in driving sustainable transformational change, motivating teams, managing resistance, and fostering collaboration.
* Proficient in SAP, MS Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
