Enterprise Software Licensing Specialist

Location(s): Perth (WA), Brisbane (QLD), Canberra (ACT), Sydney (NSW), Adelaide (SA). Full‐time, hybrid (minimum 50% onsite).

About the Role

Reporting to the IT Commercial & Assurance Manager, the Enterprise Software Licensing Specialist owns BDO's software licensing lifecycle and portfolio management to ensure optimal value, compliance, and risk reduction. The role includes leading new software requests via ITSM intake, driving optimisation at renewal, standardising technology requirements, and developing the qualified vendor list.

The specialist is an SME for licensing and technology requirements nationally, ensuring minimum standards are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage software renewals, optimising costs and ensuring compliance.
* Lead intake and governance via the ITSM platform.
* Oversee software portfolio management (SAM/ITAM).
* Develop and maintain the qualified vendor list.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across business units, Procurement, Finance and Legal.
* Support go‐to‐market activities.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

* 5+ years in ICT software/application management or commercial governance.
* Experience managing multiple software renewals and enterprise licensing across vendors.
* Proficient in writing detailed scopes of work and requirements for software implementations.
* Background in collaborating with business units, Procurement, Finance, and Legal within a professional services environment.

Skills

* Deep licensing knowledge of Microsoft, Workday, Monday.com, Azure consumption constructs (Reserved Instances / Savings Plans).
* Experience with ServiceNow/SaaS license management.
* Familiarity with SAM tools such as Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow and ability to integrate feeds into ServiceNow.
* Automation: renewal workflows with SLA timers and approvals; API/exports from SaaS admin portals for utilisation analyses and audit packs.
* Change management and continuous improvement: driving rationalisation, eliminating duplicate apps and consolidating vendors; embedding lessons into standards.
* Playbook development: ELP method, renewal checklist, intake minimum standards, qualified vendor list.
