The role…
The Senior Tax Adviser role is a rare opportunity to join our expanding tax consulting team, and a key part of nationally and internationally recognised advisory networks. The role will be focused on delivering tailored taxation advice to a broad range of private clients, businesses and family offices.
As a Senior Tax Adviser at MP+, you will be navigating a range of tax issues, including but not limited to: private groups, estate & succession, indirect taxes, corporate tax, M&A, ATO reviews and cross-border matters.
We value any niche industries or special interests that you might have to support our existing and emerging client base, such as international tax, AI startups, and so on.
In contrast to a typical compliance or portfolio management position, this is a dedicated tax advisory role that focuses on the following:
* Applying your technical knowledge to a diverse range of tax issues.
* Communicating complex issues in a clear and concise manner as a client-facing adviser that will be predominately involved with drafting of tax advice.
* Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive tax and business advisory services.
* Providing domestic and international tax support to client managers, other divisions and affiliate advisers.
* Participation in flow-coaching (mentoring) to develop and share unique skills with the MP+ team.
* Staying on the cutting edge of tax reforms and adapt to industry changes / client needs.
* Upholding and advancing our technical standards, and participating in technical training programs.
* Engaging in business development activities to expand McKinley Plowman’s reach.
Who we’re looking for…
In addition to the above experience and role parameters, this position is best suited to a commercially-minded candidate with client-facing experience, and a passion for hands-on involvement in the preparation and delivery of comprehensive tax advice. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who thrives on a challenge and is able to drive their career ambitions with the support of the MP+ team. Sound time management skills, strong written and verbal communication, and proven ability to work autonomously, with the team, and with clients are all important characteristics that we’re looking for.
Basically – if you’re ready to disrupt the tax advisory space, and excel in the interpretation and application of tax legislation, we want to hear from you!
