The ideal candidate will be a skilled teacher who can contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum programs, while also mentoring and coaching colleagues to improve their practice.

The role of a classroom teacher at Bemin Secondary College involves planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons to achieve specific student outcomes. This includes collaborating with other teachers to develop and implement curriculum areas or programs, as well as participating in activities such as parent-teacher meetings and staff professional development.

Key responsibilities of the role include direct teaching of groups and individual students, contributing to the development and implementation of curriculum programs, undertaking other classroom teaching-related duties, and participating in school-wide initiatives such as positive behaviour frameworks and literacy and numeracy programs.

To be successful in this role, applicants should have a strong understanding of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. They should also have experience in responding to student learning needs, monitoring and assessing student learning, and using data to inform teaching practice.
