About the role
Be part of a global leader in mining and civil blasting with a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. At Orica's Kooragang Island manufacturing site, we're looking for a Senior Process Engineer to help drive safe, reliable, and efficient operations across our production systems.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead process optimization initiatives, maintain essential technical documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, SHEC, and supply chain. Your work will directly contribute to smarter manufacturing practices and continuous improvement across the site.

What you will be doing
Champion safety, health, and environmental standards across production operations;
Develop and maintain key technical documents and process models for assigned production cells;
Drive continuous improvement and support cross-functional teams in production, maintenance, SHEC, and supply chain;
Analyze process data to identify trends and implement performance enhancements;
Lead technical reviews, root cause analyses, and change management initiatives;
Provide oversight on raw materials and production aids to optimize efficiency and cost; and
Collaborate with global teams and contribute to Communities of Practice to share knowledge and best practices.
What you will bring
Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering;
5+ years post-qualification experience, ideally in continuous operation chemical plants;
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills;
Experience in process improvement and process safety management systems;
Proficiency in relevant business and engineering systems (e.g., SAP, analytics tools); and
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive technical improvements.
