About The Role
Provide operational support in the provision of pharmaceuticals under the supervision of pharmacists. Duties undertaken ensure pharmacy services are safe, effective, economical, timely and of a high standard.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
* Dispensing Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) medications and associated tasks.
* Assist the pharmacist with the preparation of prescriptions, and inpatient supplies all before final checks, including PBS S100 items.
* Assist with the preparation of medication records by data entry in computerised programs and the collation and maintenance of pharmacy data.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated ability to be an active member of a pharmacy team, willingness, and ability to work under the direction of a registered pharmacist and to carry out duties with initiative and responsibility.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with high level communication
* Knowledge of the PBS, SAS, LAM, iPharmacy and eLMs would be highly
* Knowledge of Queensland health pharmacy policies and procedures would be highly
* Demonstrate ability to interpret prescriptions, understand relevant abbreviations and awareness of current legislation to facilitate the dispensing process.
* Understanding of ward stock systems, stock control and expiry date monitoring in hospital pharmacy department would be highly desirable.
Mandatory Requirements
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
* Completion of an approved Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT37115) or higher/equivalent certificate relevant to hospital pharmacy including the 'Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' Module (HTLPA001).
* Certificate III in Community Pharmacy (SIR30116) or higher/equivalent certificate plus 'Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock' Module (HTLPA001).
