Work Health and Safety Lead
This is a challenging leadership role within our organisation, requiring strategic planning and execution to promote a safe work environment.
* This position involves the development and implementation of Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems, policies, procedures, and processes across all business units.
* The successful candidate will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, support the Company's transition through project development and into production, whilst promoting a proactive safety culture.
This includes collaborating with business units to integrate WHS systems and requirements into planning and execution, managing occupational health matters, workers compensation and injury management, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations, and ensuring psychosocial risk management is embedded within the broader WHS management system.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining policies and procedures that promote mental health, respectful workplace behaviour, and psychological safety. The successful candidate will have practical industry WHS experience in a similar position with a rapidly growing junior explorer or mid-tier developer or producer.
A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is expected, and ideally a Diploma or postgraduate qualification in WHS or Risk Management. In-depth knowledge of the WA WHS Act and Regulations (Mining) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development, implementation, execution and continuous improvement of WHS and Risk Management policies, procedures, and systems.
* Collaboration with business units to integrate WHS systems and requirements into planning and execution.
* Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and assist in corrective actions.
* Manage and run occupational health matters, workers compensation and injury management.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations.
* Create and maintain policies and procedures that promote mental health, respectful workplace behaviour, and psychological safety.
Requirements:
* Practical industry WHS experience in a similar position.
* Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* In-depth knowledge of WA WHS Act and Regulations (Mining).
