About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will lead the Accounting & Reporting function within a growing business unit with a large-scale infrastructure project. The role is responsible for financial governance, reporting, technical accounting, audit and operational accounting activities, while partnering closely with stakeholders across a rapidly evolving and commercially focused environment. This is a hands‐on leadership role managing a team across both local and offshore resources, with significant exposure to senior leadership and strategic growth initiatives.
What You'll Do
* Manage a team of six with three direct reports
* Lead month-end close, forecasting and management reporting processes
* Deliver accurate P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital reporting
* Manage statutory reporting requirements including half-year and year-end reporting
* Partner with Group Finance to ensure compliance with ASX and corporate reporting obligations
* Provide technical accounting recommendations across new commercial arrangements and projects, particularly AASB 15 & 16
* Lead financial governance, controls and audit processes
* Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting
* Develop insights and analysis around financial performance and key business drivers
* Lead, mentor and develop a finance team across local and offshore resources
* Partner closely with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business
What We're Looking For
* CA / CPA
* Big 4 / Mid-tier technical background with industry experience
* Technically strong with commercial acumen
* Strong team leader and business partner
* Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders
* Hands‐on operator focused on improving processes and controls
