Employment Type: Casual (June to September 2026) Location: Melbourne About the Role : This role is for a professional chef who is passionate about making a real difference in teenager’s lives by helping to transform secondary school food. We are looking for a chef who can use their knowledge and experience to assist a secondary school canteen team make and sell delicious, healthy and nutritious vegetable items that the students will love. This is part of a research project examining how to increase vegetable consumption in adolescents via Australian secondary school canteens. To Be Successful, you'll have: Essential Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of Cert. III in Commercial Cookery Experience of using seasonal vegetables to create delicious, appealing, appetising and affordable menu options Fast-paced food service environment experience Working with Children Check Essential Skills: Team leadership and mentoring Collaborative approach and diplomacy Multi-tasking and forward menu planning POS system experience Food safety and hygiene compliance Desirable: School or adolescent catering experience Knowledge of the Victoria Government Canteen Policy Additional requirements: The role requires the incumbent to apply for and maintain a Working with Children Check.
