Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct technical and maintenance engineering support for our ecosystem technology kit and associated components.
You will work closely with the Autonomy team to make informed hardware decisions that balance cost-effectiveness with minimal impact on production requirements. This involves analyzing failures to determine root cause and proactively implementing maintenance regimes to prevent reoccurrences.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily interaction with product specialists, engineers and workshop personnel for hands-on input into strategies and improvement ideas
* Review and further interrogate daily, weekly, monthly reports and KPIs to identify common faults and trends to apply problem solving and root cause analysis, with a continual improvement focus
* Provide reliability support to all sites to ensure equipment is being maintained in accordance with our maintenance strategies and WOL plans
* Conduct RCA to identify root causes of major or chronic failures preventing or eliminating failures
* Lead the development and tracking of key reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR, and drive initiatives to improve them across the ecosystem
* Ensure high-quality failure data collection and reporting to support robust reliability analysis
* Propose improvement ideas based on detailed examination of anticipated or recurring issues of a technical or specialist nature
* Develop and implement reliability verification plans for newly introduced products, ensuring they achieve minimum performance, durability, and availability criteria before full deployment
* Support field validation programs, warranty claim analysis, and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives from a reliability perspective
* Perform hardware lifecycle analysis to evaluate cost, performance degradation, replacement intervals, and end-of-life planning to support asset management and capital forecasting
Requirements
* Experience in a heavy mobile maintenance environment desired
* Experience in mineral processing environment or similar desired
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering/related field or Trade certification in a Mechanical Discipline
* Strong communication with a self-starter attitude
* Knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP) desired
* Experience with hardware lifecycle analysis, asset longevity strategies, and data-driven replacement modelling
* Background in reliability testing, validation programs, or NPI initiatives is highly desirable
