With extensive expertise in reviewing, maintaining, and remediating critical assets and infrastructure, we deliver on our nation's sovereign capability through world‐class integrated asset management, operations and maintenance, supporting and strengthening the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) national security across the country. As this significant, long‐term, operations and maintenance contract continues to grow, we are seeking several Mechanical Fitters to join our team at RAAF Darwin, NT.
In this pivotal role, you will:
* Support the Defence Fuel Network across Australia, ensuring operational excellence and reliability.
* Contribute directly to the success of a program that's essential to the national defence capability.
* Work alongside industry experts, Defence partners, and UGL's outstanding teams.
The Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based in Darwin, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL maintenance technicians.

* Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment.
* Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel‐related assets and equipment.
* Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment.
* Support subcontracted work packages as required.Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NT.
New Rates as of 1st July 2025 Maintenance Trades (Mechanical)
* Level 1 – $47.07 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 weekly)
* Level 2 – $50.67 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 weekly)
* Level 3 (Dual Trade) – $54.28 plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 weekly)
What you Need
You will be a strong team player, a self‐starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high‐quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. We expect the successful applicants to have the following:
* Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post‐trade experience.
* Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas.
* Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded.
* Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded.
* Safety is at the forefront of everything you do!
* Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
