With a focus on consistently delivering first-class service, quality work and building strong strategic relationships, they work primarily with Tier-1 building companies & developers on industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects including shopping centres, government buildings (schools, universities, hospitals) sporting facilities, commercial high-rises, and residential towers.

Your Role
Reporting to the GM & Company Directors, your key focus will be to produce accurate and competitive tenders to support the company's profitability targets and overall business objectives - you will manage the entire bidding process providing strategic costing advice to the leadership team and customers.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Estimating
* Meticulously review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the full scope of work (projects will generally be measured by the Quantity Surveyor and presented to you in a Bill of Quantities for pricing)
* Provide precise, detailed estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and other project costs
* Provide detailed build-up of labour rates to enable accurate production rates
* Understand the access requirements to perform the scope of work
* Identify and assess potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate and/or create opportunities
* Lead estimating team to ensure all aspects of the tender invitation have been attended to
* Ensure the tender is presented in the format or break-up that the customer requires
* Review designs and project plans to recommend value engineering solutions and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
* Conduct site inspections and meetings to gather site specific information
* Carry out variation pricing
* Keep up to date with competitors in the marketplace
* Keep up to date with industry developments
Safety
* Understand the buildability of the scope of work to make allowances for safe construction methods
* Consider any necessary plant, equipment, scaffolding and work platforms required
* Consider recent company safety plans and SWMS for risks and mitigation methods of safe construction methodologies
Administration
* Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to receive quotes, build relationships with vendors, and ensure competitive pricing
* Lead estimating team on project handover meeting for successful tenders and all relevant project documentation, scope of work, and budgets
* Perform periodic review and analysis of all material and labour costs to ensure they are current
* Analyse completed projects to compare estimated costs against actual costs
Relationships
* Build relationships with client procurement team and decision makers
* Continual engagement with potential clients providing marketing and promotional involvement
Required Skills & Experience:
* In-depth understanding of site labour as projects are labour intensive
* Ability to price the labour required to build a project successfully and profitably
* Substantial experience in Masonry | Bricklaying estimating
* Previous hands-on experience in bricklaying trade advantageous
* Previous experience as a Site Manager
* Moderate understanding of cost reporting
* Intermediate MS Word & Excel skills
* Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
* NSW driver licence
* NSW Construction White Card
