Overview
Casual General Practitioner (GP) — Paediatric Anaesthetics Support. Location: Bentley, WA 6102. Business type: Public Hospital. We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner for casual engagement within a dynamic, patient-focused team.
This role will commence immediately and is ideal for a GP with interest or experience in paediatric anaesthetics and perioperative care. You will work alongside specialists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, compassionate care within a busy regional hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide general practice level assessment and management of paediatric and adult patients requiring perioperative evaluation.
* Support the anaesthetics team with pre‐operative assessment clinics, medication management, and optimisation of comorbid conditions.
* Perform timely history taking, focused examination, and risk stratification for surgical candidates.
* Communicate clearly with surgical and anaesthetic teams regarding patient status and perioperative plans.
* Document assessments, treatment plans, and follow‐up recommendations in the hospital electronic medical record.
* Deliver patient and family education regarding perioperative preparation, fasting guidelines, and postoperative care.
* Participate in handovers, case discussions, and clinical governance activities as rostered.
Qualifications
* Current Australian GP registration with AHPRA and appropriate indemnity insurance.
* Demonstrated experience in general practice and exposure to perioperative assessment or anaesthetics preferred, with paediatric experience highly regarded.
* Strong clinical decision‐making skills and ability to work under pressure in an acute setting.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, children, and families.
* Current CPR certification and ability to meet credentialing requirements for clinical duties in a public hospital.
* Flexibility to accept casual shifts and adapt to variable clinical demands.
