About the Role
Clyde & Co is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated newly admitted lawyer to join one of our leading Insurance practices in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and management of client files
* Draft, analyse, and interpret a range of legal documents and correspondence
* Conduct legal research and prepare summary memoranda
* Prepare and file court documents
* Attend client meetings and teleconferences
* Contribute to matter planning and strategy sessions
* Prepare file notes, memoranda, and meeting summaries
* Assist with drafting witness statements and affidavits
* Liaise with and support barristers, including preparing briefs to counsel
* Stay up to date with legal developments and contribute to internal learning sessions
* Support business development activities, including writing articles, preparing presentations, and assisting with tenders and client events
Key Skills and Experience
* Genuine interest in general insurance litigation spanning financial lines, professional indemnity, and director and officers (D&O)
* Strong academic credentials, self‐driven with excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong time‐management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively
* Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently
* Commercial awareness and confidence in building strong client relationships and actively developing these relationships with partner support
